L’ORIGINE has released their AW16 lookbook for their new collection called “KEKELI; EWE” shot at an old sewing workshop in Amsterdam, combining culture and creativity.

This collection is a spark of light that the founders found in their heritage. The inspiration of this collection is deep and close at the same time. It is based on the tribe of a close childhood friend. The collection is named ‘KEKELI: EWE’ meaning: The light is here: Ewe. The Ewe people have names (Ŋkɔwo) with significant meanings which either portray the spirituality of the parents or the circumstances in which the child was born. Kekeli is an Ewe name. Consisting of different types of cotton such as: corduroy, french terry, jersey, space cotton and velvet. The remaining fabrics that are used are nylon and polyester. The primary colors used in this collection are beige, black and purple. Beige and purple are used to light up the garments, whilst the black garments are illuminated by the lighter secondary colors. The corduroy cropped pants with pockets combined with the corduroy casual shirt, gives the most characteristic look of the collection. Check out the full lookbook and story behind the collection at L’ORIGINE
