An attempt at filling a gap somewhere takes impulsive hard work along with dedication and most importantly — Patience. The soothing title to 22 year old Amsterdam based singer/songwriter James Watss’ EP.
A breakthrough for an up comer but yet filled with impeccable vocals and mysterious samples. Combined mixture of Dutch Soul trap is a new wave of alternative R&B, shifting classics and soul musicality in to a whole progressive one. After catchy singles Laten Gaan and Girl, the bar were set pretty high for the release and we must say that this is simply, heat. A 9 tracklist supported by standouts — Kha Ghee and F.A.N (Freak at night), double wink, shows that diversity is pretty common in his vocabulary. No comparisons whatsoever as an artist, although influences are strongly based off the 90’s era, provided with samples of Jodeci and so on. However the props are also handed to the production team; Krankjoram, Andy Ricardo, CHI€VVA, Reymuzik, Davey Donovan, Projectmoney, overwriting soulful 808 feels through the whole album.
