The 25 year old alternative R&B singer has his own way of incorporating light percussion, soft vocals and low harmonies with subtle smooth transitions to distortion
Releasing music under The hotel, explained when asked – “I’ve spent most of my life in studios; overnight sessions and working with different people lead me to come up with the name”. Reflecting on his younger years, being influenced by Music Soulchild, Kanye West and Slum Village. Although producers such as The Neptunes, Flying Lotus and Timberland did not go unnoticed by him either. The self-produced, written and engineered album provides a smooth intimate ambiance following the release of the five track EP Apricity (2014). Peep down below his latest project.
It’s a big production, and all of it feels necessary using melodies and metaphors to obscure details of his inner life. This clearly veiled expression results in tracks such as ‘Drifting’, the thoughtfulness describes lyrics “Can you keep up turning corners drifting and then we making backseat love, every moment different.” – There’s no doubt that The hotel is expanding his genre but creating his own way of creating it.
I started producing and songwriting for other artist while working on my own craft which helped me develop my sound. My main goal is to create and influence, and to welcome others to create with me.
